Context

During my time at Design Design Inc., we worked on several products for TA Instruments. The TMA 450 was unique since we had to reuse a components from another device and were tasked with changing as few of the components as possible. We were also tasked with keeping the design language present throughout the rest of their products.

Our Responsibility

We spent time over at TA getting accustomed to the product and it’s constraints. We developed sketches with suggested part break-ups and aesthetic treatments. We revised the concepts until we were confident we had good direction and started translating into CAD. This particular product made use of some really crazy parting lines and draft directions to achieve the form we wanted while keeping the mold cost down. You can see the fruit of our labor below.
